Study habits are the key to effective learning. Adopt these 5 simple techniques to make the best of your study time.
Get Started
Doing something is better than doing nothing. Actually studying for 10 minutes is better than planning to study for 60 minutes and then doing nothing.
Focus on Consistency over Quantity
30 minutes every day is far more effective than 3 hours one day and nothing for the rest of the week. Consistency will improve your retention and help you build up the habit of studying.
Break Things Down
Break large amounts of work into bite-sized chunks and take breaks in between. It is better to work 3 x 30 minute blocks than to work 90 minutes without taking a break.
Manage Your Energy
Manage your energy levels. Eat healthy foods, make sure you get enough sleep, and exercise regularly.
Reward Yourself
Create milestones and reward yourself for achieving them. Make yourself a sticker chart, or promise your self a trip to the cinema if you achieve certain things. Whatever you do, keep it simple. You don’t want to waste all your study time working out a reward system!
